Position Title: Peer Mentor

Supervisor: SSVF Program Manager

Location: SSVF Pinellas

SUMMARY: The Peer Mentor provides direct outreach and pre-screening to potential individuals interested in enrolling in the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program. Qualified candidate must possess a clear understanding of the service delivery system and the resources available for veterans and their families. Individual will provide peer support, mentoring, and coaching to SSVF program participants to help them access and navigate community and veteran resources. This individual will also serve as a quality assurance representative to veteran households accessing SSVF funds and participate as a member of the strengths based Case Management team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Outreach

· Identify locations frequented by potential veteran applicants (including veteran family members)

· Provide direct outreach to veterans and their families in their naturally occurring environments (i.e. home visits and community visits)

· Engage and build rapport with target population

· Provide identification of and pre-screening for eligibility of potential applicants

· Coordinate initial screening and assessment with Case Management team

· Participate in Stand Downs and other VA/community outreach activities

Support

· Provide peer support, mentoring, and coaching to SSVF participants through assistance in navigating and accessing veteran and mainstream resources

· Accompany veterans to appointments, when appropriate

· Provide peer support and mentoring in securing permanent housing

· Assist Case Management team in preparing discharge plans and follow-up contact with SSVF program participants

· Complete paperwork and data reports as requested by the Program Manager including use of HSMIS

Networking

· Attend agency, community, and supervisory meetings, as needed

· Maintain working relationships with community agencies to provide comprehensive services to participants

· Maintain working relationships with veteran serving organizations

· Attend in-service trainings and outside conferences/workshops, as requested by the Program Manager

 

Position Title: Housekeeper

Supervisor: Plant Operations Director

Work Schedule: Full Time

Summary: The Housekeeper performs various chores that contribute to the upkeep and cleanliness of the Center of Hope which provides veterans and non-veterans who may be recovering from substance abuse and/or mental illnesses, treatment, supportive services and programs to assist clients in achieving greater self-determination, self-sufficiency and permanent housing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Clean offices, lounges, corridors, hallways, stairwells, kitchenettes and laundry rooms and other work spaces of the COH.

· Wash and fold COH bed linens

· Empty and clean trash receptacles

· Clean and sanitize showers and bathrooms

· Sweep and mop floors

· Vacuum carpets

· Clean glass doors, including those in emergency exits

· Clean windows

· Dust blinds

· Monitor and report necessary repairs and replacements

· Clean in CARE Center as needed

· All work should be performed according to standards

· Complies with all applicable training requirementsComplies with all company safety, personnel and operational policies and procedures

· Complies with work schedule to ensure effective operations of Agency programs.

· Contributes positively as a member of a productive and cooperative team

Position Title: Seasonal Part Time Truck Driver

Supervisor: Thrift Store Manager

Work Schedule: Part Time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Drive a pre-scheduled route, assigned by the Assistant Manager-Thrift Store, to pick up donations and/or deliver merchandise to customers and clients

· Load and unload a variety of merchandise including furniture, bedding, appliances, household items and clothing

· Assist in using lifts, dollies and other equipment for heavy items, as well as safety belts to prevent personal injury

· Operate the vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, observing all rules of the road as well as those established by management

· Be cognizant, at all times and under all circumstances, that the vehicle and its personnel are "ambassadors of goodwill" and a "moving billboard" for St. Vincent de Paul

· Be responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle and the need for preventive maintenance, including oil changes

· Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Manager or Assistant Manager

· Complete daily logs and adhere to the truck maintenance schedule

· Driving record must be free from violations

· Knowledgeable on road and safety regulations

· A knowledge of the south Pinellas County area

· Ability to read road maps

· Excellent driving record for at least three years prior to employment

Position Title: Thrift Store Cashier – (Part Time)

Supervisor: Thrift Store Manager

Location: Thrift Store

Work Schedule: 24 hrs each week (with varied days)

Summary: The Cashier is the principal recipient of cash and credit card payments for merchandise sold to customers of the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store. This position will operate the register in providing clothing, household goods and furniture to needy individuals and families of the District Council's 11 Conferences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Greet customers as they enter the store and again when they are ready to check out

· Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate parties

· Ring individual items on the cash register, accept payment, make proper change, and accurately fill out credit cards which must be accompanied by a picture ID. Provide a receipt to every customer and bag their purchases

· Assist customers with directions to various "departments" and answer their questions.

· Maintain a clean, neat work area

· Help enforce all store policies as outlined in the store's "Ten Commandments of Service" posted at check-out counter

· Must be sensitive to and respect cultural diversity amongst clients, staff and volunteers and able to work with diverse racial, ethnic and economic groups

· Flexible work schedule including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays

Position Title: CARE Center Navigator

Supervisor: CARE Center Manager

Location: CARE Center

Work Schedule: 40 hrs each week (with varied days)

Summary: The CARE Center Navigator will primarily be responsible for the ongoing assessment of clients with continued follow up to be sure he/she reaches their individual goals. The CARE Center Navigator will work with Tampa Bay Information Network (TBIN) to open and close all client cases, provide goal setting and assessment of client needs, to include the management and supervision of all support staff within the CARE Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assessment of client’s needs as they come in the door.

· Set goals and perform follow-up and assist with training support staff.

· Provide assistance and supervision of volunteers.

· Monitor clients in dining and courtyard areas and monitoring of cleanliness in dining area/lounge.

Position Title: Housing Specialist

Supervisor: SSVF Program Manager

Location: SSVF Pinellas

SUMMARY: The Housing Specialist I shall provide direct services to enable eligible clients to locate affordable, safe and sanitary housing. The Housing Specialist will network with owners and managers of housing units, and maintain a list of landlords that can readily assist our clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for identifying and engaging landlords through a variety of methods in order to develop sufficient affordable housing stock for RRH program

· Assists eligible families in locating and renting suitable housing; computing and preparing financing arrangements and monitoring owner/tenant compliance with standards

· Maintain linkage between Agency, landlord and client

· Develop and maintain (i.e., update) a database/listing of available housing stock for clients

· Responsible for coordinating and/or performing Housing Inspection

· Makes referrals to agencies and departments for the resolution of applicant housing issues

· Investigates tenant and owner complaints and conducts follow-up visits

· Makes appropriate referrals for assistance when client’s needs cannot be met

· Maintains required client, legal and administrative record and statistical data as required by SVdPSP and program funders including use of HSMIs

· Responsible for collecting all necessary documentation for client files

· Networks and collaborates with other agencies and represents the agency at community functions, which may include public speaking and presentations as directed by Program Manager

· All other duties as assigned

· Demonstrates a commitment to serve all people with respect and compassion

· Works in a spirit of cooperation with all external and internal stakeholders

· Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record if driving an agency vehicle or a personal vehicle for company business.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES

SUMMARY: The SSVF Administrative Assistant provides office services by implementing administrative systems, procedures, and policies. This position will also provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, scanning, faxing and copying to management of all projects.

•    Maintain an electronic and hard copy filing system
•    Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence
•    Perform data entry and scan documents
•    Manage the calendar for Program Manager when necessary

Position Title: PT Utility Worker

Supervisor: Food Center Manager

Summary: The Utility Worker provides backup and support to the Sous Chef/Assistant Manager with cleaning kitchen equipment and appliances used in preparation of meals for clients of the Center of Hope

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Wash Dishes

· Clean kitchen equipment and appliances

· Assist in inventory of food and supplies to assure freezers and pantries are amply stocked

· Assist in unloading food and supplies from trucks

· Help properly store purchased and donated foods in freezers and pantries

· Assist in the rotation of perishable foods in a "first-in-first-out" basis

· Assist the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in complying with all food service standards and regulations established by federal, state, county or local agencies

· Ability to clean and organize work area

Position Title:        Maintenance Tech

SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician performs various tasks that contribute to the overall maintenance and upkeep of the District Council's properties including the District Office, Food Center, CARE Center, Center of Hope, Thrift Store and their adjacent grounds and provides support to the Plant Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•    Assist and provide back up to the Plant Operations Manager in ensuring that each and every building is operating at maximum efficiency and is safe and secure for employees, volunteers, clients and visitors
•    Use a broad spectrum of skills covering such trades as carpentry, plumbing, roofing, air conditioning, electrical, painting in his day-to-day activities
•    Undertake special maintenance projects in the Food Center, Center of Hope, Thrift Store and District Office as directed
•    Help keep the Center of Hope's client rooms in good order by repainting, repairing and/or readying rooms for new admissions while seeing to other maintenance issues in rooms of existing clients
