Community Foundation of Sarasota County Awards $10K Grant to SVdP CARES

St. Vincent de Paul CARES Receives $10,000 Grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s Community Impact Fund to Support Delivering Dreams Program

Sarasota, FL [April 24, 2026] — St. Vincent de Paul CARES (SVdP CARES) has received a $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s Community Impact Fund to support the organization’s Delivering Dreams program, which provides essential resources and services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness across Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties.

Funding for this project is provided by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s Community Impact Fund.

The Delivering Dreams program helps connect individuals experiencing homelessness with critical support services, including housing navigation, essential supplies, and access to stabilization resources designed to help individuals transition from homelessness into safe and stable housing. Through this program, outreach teams meet people where they are both geographically and within their personal journey, helping remove barriers that often prevent individuals from accessing care and housing.

This generous support from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s Community Impact Fund allows us to expand our outreach efforts and provide meaningful assistance to individuals and families who need it most,” said Michael Raposa, CEO of SVdP CARES. “Programs like Delivering Dreams ensure that people experiencing homelessness have access to immediate support while we work toward long-term housing solutions that make homelessness rare, brief, and one-time.”

The grant will help SVdP CARES deliver critical services in the region, strengthening the organization’s ability to assist vulnerable neighbors and connect them with the resources needed to rebuild their lives.

SVdP CARES operates throughout Florida with a Housing First approach, prioritizing rapid access to housing and supportive services without traditional barriers such as employment history, credit issues, or other challenges. By meeting people where they are and addressing immediate needs, the organization works to quickly stabilize individuals and connect them to long-term housing and support.
