Society of St. Vincent de Paul South Pinellas, Inc. has received notification that it has been accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA)!

COA is an international, independent, nonprofit, human service accrediting organization that was founded in August 1977, as an accrediting body of social and behavioral healthcare services, whose mission “promotes best practice standards; champions quality services for children, youth, and families; and advocates for the value of accreditation.” Society of St. Vincent de Paul South Pinellas, Inc. is proud to join COA’s Community of Excellence that includes more than 2,200 private and public organizations that serve more than 7 million individuals and families in the United States and Canada.

COA accreditation is an objective, independent, and reliable validation of an agency’s performance. The COA accreditation process involves a detailed review and analysis of an organization’s administration, management, and service delivery functions against international standards of best practice. The standards driving accreditation ensure that services are well-coordinated, culturally competent, evidence-based, outcomes-oriented, and provided by a skilled and supported workforce. COA accreditation demonstrates accountability in the management of resources, sets standardized best practice thresholds for service and administration, and increases organizational capacity and accountability by creating a framework for ongoing quality improvement. Society of St. Vincent de Paul South Pinellas, Inc., has the distinction of becoming the first district operation within the U.S. to attain COA Accreditation.
