A Family Resurrected

Since we began accepting families into our Center of Hope, St. Vincent de Paul South Pinellas, Inc. (SVdPSP) has been blessed to help many families like this one.

This family found themselves victim to life’s circumstances and ended up homeless. They were unable to support themselves, afford childcare, or find a job, and ended up on the street. When SVdPSP learned about them, they were living in a car in a local shopping center parking lot. Mom managed to get her children to school and keep a part time job, but they were barely surviving.

Dad had always been independent, so it was really hard to ask for help. Then he lost his full time job, their home and most of their possessions. Unable to provide for their children, or find a safe place to sleep, they were literally cold and hungry when our outreach team found them.

Thanks to your generous donations, this family is thriving and working towards independence. They did everything they could to take care of themselves, but they needed our help. We were able to provide a safe place to sleep, warmth and nutritious meals, thanks to our generous donors like you.

Once they moved into the Center of Hope, they were able to think of their future and what they wanted that to look like. The first step to ending homelessness is a safe stable place to sleep at night only then can people create a life plan. The Center of Hope provides this place and also gives the family time to plan their future and end the cycle of homelessness.

This Easter, help us continue to give a safe place to sleep and nourishing meals, so families like these have a chance to end their homelessness.
