Volunteering needs.

St. Vincent de Paul is eternally grateful for the hundreds of volunteers who dedicate their time each year to serving the less fortunate. Our volunteers are indispensable to the ministry and programs we offer. Some of our current volunteer opportunities include the following:

  • The Food Center needs individuals and small groups to help kitchen staff prepare, serve and clean up after meals; can sort and stock shelves, as well as put food baskets together for needy individuals and families who qualify for food vouchers.

  • The Thrift Store needs individuals and groups who can sort, price and hang donated clothing items. We also need assistants to ride with our truck driver for deliveries and pick ups. Every donation helps the homeless.

  • Our District Office needs individuals to help fill gaps in staffing. Reception, help with mailings, data entry, office tasks and administrative duties are needed.

  • The Food Center needs drivers for our trucks, must have a clean driving record.

  • Volunteers are needed at our Clearwater, Tampa, New Port Richey, Polk and St. Petersburg offices to do a variety of things, including placing follow up calls to our recently housed Veterans.

Please contact Marilyn Brownlee, Director of Communication and Outreach at Volunteers@svdpsp.org to find out how you can make a difference.

It should be known that St. Vincent de Paul reserves the right to conduct a background screening for all volunteers. Because you will be working among our clients and/or customers, we will require some basic information about you, which assures the best possible program and safety for all.   If you, or someone you know, is interested in dedicating your time to volunteering with one of our many programs, please contact Volunteers@svdpsp.org or 727-954-7251 for more information.
